Housing market to stay open despite new national lockdown

Borris Johnson has made a new announcement containing a new set of national restrictions similar to the first lockdown in March 2020

News

Borris Johnson has made a new announcement containing a new set of national restrictions similar to the first lockdown in March 2020.

Thankfully the housing market is set to continue functioning as it has done over the Christmas period with no changes to viewing, selling, or purchasing regulations.

Government advice:

You can still move home. People outside your household or support
bubble should not help with moving house unless absolutely necessary.

Estate and letting agents and removals firms can continue to work. If you
are looking to move, you can go to property viewings.

Follow the national guidance on moving home safely, which includes
advice on social distancing, letting fresh air in, and wearing a face
covering.

Considering the Stamp Duty abolishment is still in full force we don’t expect any reduction in house purchases during the start of 2021. The question is… will the government extend the much-needed STDL abolishment or will they bring the abrupt holt to thousands hoping to save money on their transactions!
